Log your week from Claude or ChatGPT.

Timecone connects to Claude Code, Claude and ChatGPT, so you can ask an AI assistant to fill in, check and submit your timesheet. It acts as you and can do only what you can do in Timecone.

Before you start

AI assistant access is turned on for each organization by its Timecone admin. Until it is on, assistants cannot connect to your account.

  • You need a Timecone account at app.timecone.io.
  • Every assistant uses the same connection URL: https://app.timecone.io/mcp. You choose your organization when you sign in.
  • There is no API key to copy. You sign in to Timecone in your browser and approve the assistant.

Connect Claude Code

Add Timecone once from your terminal, then sign in from inside Claude Code.

  1. Run this in your terminal:
    $ claude mcp add --transport http timecone https://app.timecone.io/mcp
  2. Start Claude Code, type /mcp, pick timecone and choose Authenticate.
  3. Your browser opens Timecone. Sign in and choose Approve.

Connect Claude

On claude.ai and the Claude apps, Timecone is added as a custom connector.

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Timecone and paste https://app.timecone.io/mcp as the URL. Leave the advanced settings as they are.
  3. Choose Connect, sign in to Timecone and choose Approve.
TipIn a chat, make sure the Timecone connector is turned on in the tools menu before you ask about your timesheet.

Connect ChatGPT

ChatGPT adds custom connectors in developer mode.

  1. In ChatGPT settings, open Apps & Connectors, then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Create a connector named Timecone with the URL https://app.timecone.io/mcp and OAuth authentication.
  3. Sign in to Timecone when ChatGPT asks, and choose Approve.

Approve the connection

Every assistant ends at the same Timecone page, which shows the app asking for access and what it will be able to do.

  • Check the app name and the account it will act as. Choose Use a different account if it is the wrong one.
  • Choose Approve to connect, or Cancel to stop. Nothing is connected until you approve.

What can the assistant do?

The assistant works with your own timesheets, the same way you do in Timecone.

Read your weeksAny week's hours, status, approvers and history, and which weeks are missing or overdue
Find your tasksThe tasks you can log to, your recent ones first, with search
Log hours and commentsFill a whole week at once, in quarter-hour steps
Add and remove tasksOr copy last week's tasks into a new week
Submit and recallSubmit a week for approval, or recall it to make changes
Get the PDFA link to a week's timesheet PDF

Log 8 hours a day on the patient portal redesign this week and 2 hours of internal meetings on Friday.

Reports, approving other people's timesheets and admin settings are not available through AI assistants yet.

Changes you confirm first

Some changes are hard to undo, so the assistant shows you a preview and waits for your yes before making them.

  • Submit a week: you see the totals, any warnings and who will approve it.
  • Remove a task, cancel a week or delete a week: you see what will change.
  • Approved weeks stay locked. An approver or finance has to reopen them, as in the app.

Access and disconnecting

A connection acts only as you and lasts 30 days from when you approve it. After that you sign in again.

  • It can see and do only what your own account can.
  • Timecone checks your account on every request. A connection stops working right away if your account is deactivated, your password changes or your organization turns off AI assistant access.
  • To disconnect, open your Profile in Timecone and choose Disconnect next to the app under Connected agents. You can also ask the assistant to disconnect itself.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Timecone with Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes. Timecone connects to Claude Code, Claude and ChatGPT through the connection URL https://app.timecone.io/mcp, once your organization's admin turns on AI assistant access.

Can the assistant submit my timesheet without asking?

No. Before submitting, removing a task, cancelling or deleting a week, the assistant shows you a preview and makes the change only after you agree.

How long does a connection last?

A connection lasts 30 days from when you approve it. You can disconnect it sooner from your Profile in Timecone under Connected agents.

Can the assistant see other people's timesheets?

No. The assistant acts as you and works with your own timesheets only.
